The Social Media and Influencer Relations Manager role sits within the Public Engagement team and reports to the Head of Public Engagement. This department is responsible for Mind's media, social media, celebrity, and influencer relations work which supports the organisations' goals across Social Impact and Income Generation. In your role you will manage two Senior Influencer Relations Officers and an Influencer Relations Assistant.

Core accountabilities:
- Leadership
Lead the development and delivery of Mind's celebrity, influencer, and social media strategies to raise awareness and engagement. Motivate and develop team members to deliver high-quality campaigns and content. Provide strategic direction for celebrity and influencer partnerships and social media presence, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives. Act as a decision-maker during high-profile or reputational risk situations.
- Equity and Culture
Champion diversity and inclusion in all work, ensuring social media outputs reflect Mind's values and behaviours, that we are working with a range of high-profile supporters from different backgrounds and supporting them to talk about their lived experience safely and effectively. Embed audience insight and co-design approaches, particularly involving people with lived experience of mental health problems and marginalised communities. Promote a culture of continuous learning and wellbeing within teams.
- Relationships
Build and maintain constructive relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and high-profile supporters (e.g. digital influencers, celebrities, agents). Communicate clearly to key stakeholders plans to use celebrity and social media resource effectively to achieve the organisation's goals. Act as a trusted adviser to colleagues, offering expert guidance in specialist areas.
- Digital and Data Leadership
Oversee social media strategy and content planning, ensuring platforms deliver engaging, audience-focused content. Use analytics and audience insights to evaluate influencer and social media performance, adapting strategies for maximum impact. Stay ahead of trends in influencer marketing and social media to maintain Mind's relevance and reach. Embed clearer evaluation metrics for celebrity work.
- Budget and Delivery Oversight
Manage delegated budgets (e.g. social media, celebrity engagement), including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting. Make sure projects and campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and meet strategic objectives.
- Ambassadorial Leadership
Represent Mind internally and externally as a credible spokesperson and advocate. Nurture relationships with celebrities and influencers, ensuring they reflect Mind's values and contribute to strategic priorities. Prepare high-profile supporters for media engagements and manage reputation risks. Act as the key relationship holder for Mind's relationships with high profile supporters.
- Risk and Governance
Oversee due diligence process for working with high profile supporters. Monitor performance and manage risks, including reputational risks linked to digital content or celebrity engagement. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organisational policies (e.g. GDPR, safeguarding). Escalate risks appropriately and implement effective mitigation strategies. Act as key relationship holder with Mind's social media moderation agency. - Other Duties
Deputise for the Head of Public Engagement. Undertake any other duties in line with the level and nature of the role, including occasional out-of-hours work and travel. Support as appropriate with out of hours issues.
