We have big goals over the next few years.
We're going to be fighting for mental health in a way we never have before.
Together we'll be working to make sure everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve.
Mind's President, Ambassadors, influencers and celebrity supporters make huge contributions to our work. They raise crucial awareness of mental health in traditional and social media, promote our brand and services to new audiences, support our fundraising initiatives and, vitally, challenge stigma. In fact, research has shown that one in five people have spoken out about their own mental health after seeing a celebrity speak out about theirs.
As Senior Influencer Relations Officer you will manage Mind's relationships with some of our key celebrity supporters, Ambassadors and digital influencers. You will have responsibility for nurturing these influential relationships with the aim of building up lasting and meaningful connections that benefit the charity.
Key Responsibilities
1. To contribute to the implementation of Mind's Celebrities, Influencers and Ambassadors strategy, designed to drive awareness and visibility of Mind amongst our target audiences.
2. To maintain and nurture Mind's existing relationship with the charity's official celebrity Ambassadors, as well as build relationships with a wider group of high profile individuals including digital influencers, by contributing to and delivering an efficient stewardship programme to ensure that they are motivated, informed and engaged with Mind.
3. To prioritise and manage internal stakeholder requests for celebrity and influencer involvement, setting expectations, suggesting alternatives, negotiating and making suitable approaches as required.
4. To be proactive in monitoring popular culture, current events and trends involving celebrities and media influencers in order to identify new potential supporters and Ambassadors who have direct experience of mental health problems.
5. Work with the Media & Celebrity Manager and Head of Media and PR to manage any reputational issues with regards to celebrity supporters, conducting risk assessments, making judgements about who we engage with our work and ensuring that our high profile supporters represent and adhere to Mind's values.
6. To provide an effective service to journalists by co-ordinating Mind's response to celebrity related and general mental health media enquiries, writing and distributing press releases, statements or blogs to national, regional, local and trade media.
7. To prepare Mind's media spokespeople and celebrity supporters for media interviews, providing them with full pre and post-interview briefings so they have the necessary knowledge to represent Mind.
Mind is committed to equality of opportunity for all staff, and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
