As part of the Data Protection, Internal Audit, and Compliance team, this role will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance across National Mind and overseeing the compliance framework. This wide-ranging role will provide guidance and advice to colleagues and ensure that the organisation has sufficient controls and processes in place. The role will be supporting work across all teams at national Mind and enable the organisation to effectively manage risks in the following areas:
- Information governance and data protection
- Contract compliance and due diligence
- Regulatory compliance
- Risk management
- Fundraising Regulation
The post holder will:
- Provide expert advice and recommendations across a range of legal, compliance, data protection and fundraising enquiries to support the development and mobilisation of projects, partnerships, and programmes.
- Develop, implement, and actively review internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Proactively identify areas of potential risk and issues related to compliance and mitigate these risks through the implementation of corrective actions.
- Work together with wider team members to lead on internal and external audits, prepare necessary analyses of data and reports, and communicate compliance recommendations to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Actively maintain a robust understanding of relevant legislation and tracking changes to the regulatory landscape, assessing their impact on the organisation.
- Work collaboratively with relevant internal and external stakeholders to maximise impact and effectiveness of the Data Protection, Internal Audit and Compliance team's work.
- Investigate and conduct reviews on incidents involving compliance breaches and ensuring accurate reporting in accordance with internal procedures.
- Provide compliance-related training to upskill staff, volunteers, and board members to promote a culture of compliance across the organisation.
- Produce and maintain documentation that provides evidence of legal and regulatory compliance.
- Undertake any and all other reasonable and related tasks associated with this role.
